Roasted White Turnips
1 bunch white turnips
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup butter parsley or basil
In a saucepan filled with lightly salted boiling water, cook turnips until tender, then drain, slice and set aside.
In a bowl combine breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Dip each turnip slice into beaten egg, then into seasoned breadcrumbs and set aside.
In a skillet, melt butter and cook turnips until golden. Place in a serving dish, decorate with parsley sprigs or basil and serve.
