Denison Farm CSA

Fresh, organic vegetables, eggs and fruit - from our farm directly to you.

Welcome to the Denison Farm CSA

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a unique collaboration connecting people to a local farm and farmer. When you become a Denison Farm CSA member, you agree to support the costs of running the farm in exchange for a share of the harvest. By contributing a membership fee in advance, you become a partner with us in sharing some of the risk — but also the bounty! —  of agricultural production.

What are the benefits of the Denison Farm CSA?

Brian and Justine — Our farmers’ faces!

The problems with our industrialized food system are many. From pesticide residues in our food, soil, and water, to the shrinking number of family farms, there are many reasons to look at alternative food systems such as CSA. The CSA concept first took hold in Japan, where it was called  “food with the farmer’s face,” emphasizing that food does not have to be a generic commodity transported many miles and produced under factory-like conditions.  From our perspective as farmers, our CSA succeeds because it allows us to focus on our passion for working with the land to produce the most wholesome, life-giving, best tasting food possible, while building a strong bond with the members we are feeding. We are confident that the hundreds of families who take part in the Denison Farm CSA every year agree!

Share Availability and Pricing for 2018

This season we look forward to providing hundreds of families in the Capital Region with locally grown, organic produce. Shares are limited, however, so sign up today to reserve your spot in the CSA. Simply complete the form and make a secure payment below.

We are farming 25 acres of  USDA Certified Organic vegetables, herbs, some fruit, and cover crops in the most sustainable and ecological way we can. Denison Farm currently is certified through NOFA’s Farmers’ Pledge and by PCO.  Please look online at the NOFA-NY and PCO websites to learn more about both organizations.

Pricing

  • Vegetables*: 22 weeks, $585 (USDA Certified Organic)
  • Eggs: 22 weeks, $130 (USDA Certified Organic)
  • Fruit: 12 weeks, $165
Melons are just one of the many sweet delights of the season’s likely CSA bounty.

We appreciate that each share is an investment for you and your family. But consider this: How much would you spend over the 22 weeks (nearly five months!) of the growing season if you shopped at your local grocer and purchased only or primarily fresh, organic produce? We think you’d find that you’re actually saving money with the CSA! And don’t forget the health benefits of our bounty, or the fact that you are helping to preserve local, organic farming.

* A limited number of working shares are available at a $40 discount, as are low-income shares at $495/share. You must call the Farm to confirm availability of working or low-income shares. Please do not submit our paper registration form for working or low-income shares until you have first confirmed their availability.
