Tuesday June 26, 2007 Greetings CSA Members, We have the irrigation up and running in the beet field and the greenhouse tomatoes are all trellised, watered, and growing happily. Each week Brian is gaining more and more of his strength back and overall we are accomplishing more of the work that was left behind with his vacation in the hospital! One member suggested that I put a packing slip in with the shares. I agree that some weeks have some very unusual vegetables. And so I will send a list of what’s in your share each week to each site along with posting it on the website. The list will be close to what is in your share. But sometimes due to what is available and how much is available, the shares may differ slightly from site to site. I get a chuckle from one CSA farmer who states it like this: What’s in your share – our best guess! This week your share is coming to you in a pre-packed box. Even if you have a late night work meeting, your full share will be waiting for you! We would appreciate it if you would return the box the following week and in order to preserve it, please take apart by pulling up carefully by finding the crease in the tabs, pinching up and sliding out to save the ears that the tabs tuck into. The boxes then will be flattened and can be stored easily for re-use. Thank you so much. The fruit and egg shares will not be put in the box. You will find them set up separately. Please remember that both the fruit and egg shares are only for those folks who have requested and paid for them. Except for the melons that will come later in the season, the fruit on the table is no longer for everyone. Thank you for your feedback, ideas, and questions. Remember next week the share will be delivered on Wednesday July 4th as planned. Enjoy your share this week – Justine Braising Greens With Garlic 1-2 tablespoons olive oil 1/2 – ¾ lb.
