CSA Produce for This Week (and prior weeks)

Week 22 - Final Week (Wednesday, October 25)

fall vegetables

Dear CSA Members:

Song for Autumn
Don’t you imagine the leaves dream now
how comfortable it will be to touch
the earth instead of the
nothingness of the air and the endless
freshets of wind? And don’t you think
the trees, especially those with
mossy hollows, are beginning to look for
the birds that will come – six, a dozen – to sleep
inside their bodies? And don’t you hear
the goldenrod whispering goodbye,
the everlasting being crowned with the first
tuffets of snow? The pond
stiffens and the white field over which
the fox runs so quickly brings out
its long blue shadows. The wind wags
its many tails. And in the evening
the piled firewood shifts a little,
longing to be on its way.
~ Mary Oliver

This, our final week of the CSA, I dedicate the newsletter to you – our dear CSA Members. Brian and I thank you for your support, your thoughtfulness, your friendship. Without you, we would have a dreary, dull life. With you, we have a partnership and community, gifts and thoughtful notes, and amazing anecdotes. We cherish your support. We appreciate your recipes, your suggestions, your late-night email ideas. Thank you for making a very challenging season wonderful. We have already plunged headlong into the planning for next season. Come join us again for another CSA adventure in 2024. We would hate to go it alone.

Until then, enjoy your winter vegetable boxes and stay cozy throughout the next few months!

With Gratitude – Justine and Brian

2nds Carrots, Beets and Sweet Potatoes

It’s 2nds Carrots, Beets and Sweet Potatoes season!

Are you interested in purchasing one or more thirty (30) pound bags of carrots, beets, and/or sweet potatoes, perfect for juicing, canning, roasting, eating or freezing in quantity? Each bag is $22. Please order online on our website. You will have the option to pay online or by sending us a check.

Click to purchase your seconds bag(s).

Here’s the difference between these carrots/beets/sweet potatoes and other organic carrots/beets/sweet potatoes – they are misshapen, too large or too small, and may look a little funny (forked carrots, extra large odd-shaped beets, etc.).

Orders for the 30 lb bags of Carrots, Beets and/or Sweet Potatoes must be received by Monday at 9:00 a.m. for the current week’s CSA pick up. Bags must be picked up at a CSA site location or at the Farm.

Sorry, but smaller quantities or mixed bags are not available.

If you would like more than three (3) bags at any one pickup, or have any questions, please email or call Justine at 518-894-5571
